Lui was a tiny chameleon. He lived in a garden filled with giant leaves. He had round eyes and a curious little tail. He always wore a red scarf around his neck. Sometimes, it tickled his nose. “Achoo!” went Lui, and his tail curled into a loop. But whenever he thought about school, a nervous flutter filled his tummy.
Lui era un camaleón pequeñito. Vivía en un jardín de hojas grandes. Tenía ojos redondos y una colita curiosa. Siempre llevaba un pañuelo rojo en el cuello. A veces, el pañuelo le hacía cosquillas en la nariz. —¡Achís! —hacía Lui, y su colita daba una vuelta. Pero cuando pensaba en la escuela, las cosquillas bajaban hasta su pancita.

Every morning, Lui looked at the school door. It was big. Very, very big. To Lui, it looked like a whale saying, “Aaaah!” His heart went thump, thump, thump. “What if I make a mistake?” he wondered. “What if no one wants to play with me?” His skin turned pale green, and he trembled like jelly on a plate.
Cada mañana, Lui veía la puerta de la escuela. Era una puerta grande, grande. Para Lui parecía una ballena diciendo: «¡Aaaah!». Su corazón hacía: pum, pum, pum. —¿Y si me equivoco? —pensaba. —¿Y si nadie juega conmigo? Su piel se ponía verde clarito y temblaba como gelatina con frío.
