Nuria was a soft, round little otter. She lived in a quiet river. She loved floating with the sun on her tummy. “Today, I’ll be a leaf,” she said. But her tail went splash, splash! And Nuria spun once, twice… three times! She looked like a leaf with whiskers. A very dizzy leaf.
Nuria era una nutria suave y redondita. Vivía en un río tranquilo. Le gustaba flotar con la barriga al sol. —Hoy seré una hoja —decía. Pero su cola hacía: ¡chap, chap! Y Nuria giraba una, dos… ¡tres veces! Parecía una hoja con bigotes. Una hoja muy mareada.

One day, Nuria swam down to the riverbed. Between two stones, she saw a shiny little clam. “Oh! What are you?” She looked at it very closely. She tapped it: tap, tap. The clam did not move. A bubble tickled Nuria’s nose. Pop! “What a wet hello!” Nuria went cross‐eyed trying to look at it.
Un día, Nuria nadó hasta el fondo. Entre dos piedras vio una conchita brillante. —¡Oh! ¿Qué eres tú? La miró muy de cerca. La tocó: toc, toc. La conchita no se movió. Una burbuja le hizo cosquillas en la nariz. ¡Blup! —¡Qué saludo tan mojado! Nuria puso los ojos bizcos para mirarla.
